Youth Pilgrimage sponsored by the Catholic Rural Life Committee.
The Catholic Rural Life Committee is sponsoring a youth pilgrimage to Albuquerque, NM in honor of Sister Blandina Segale, SC on August 12th and 13th. Students in junior high and high school are invited to participate.
Sister Blandina journeyed alone to the Southwest from Cincinnati as a 20-year-old nun. She founded many schools, orphanages and hospitals for the Native American and Hispanic population. She is being promoted for canonization for sainthood in the Catholic Church.
The theme of the pilgrimage will be "Discerning One's Vocation" and will include a visit to "Sr. Blandina's Convent," a museum dedicated to her honor in the Albuquerque historic district.
The cost per participant will be $50.00 for one night's lodging plus meal expenses. The group will depart Amarillo at 1 PM on Friday, August 12th and return to Amarillo on Saturday, August 13th at 7 PM.
