Rally Preparations

Activities – will take place on Friday April 16, 2010 at the south Exhibit Hall side at 7:00 p.m. Board Games, Texas Hold'em, Wii Challenge (tentative), "So you think you can dance" gifts will be awarded to the winner. Registration forms can be downloaded at www.covenantteen.com The dance will take place at the same time as the other activities.

Housing– On your own. Simple accomodation: Franciscan Convent - Sister Inez Lopez at 806-383-5769 & Kwadi Kiva Museam - Charles Ritchie at 806-335-3175 both at $4.50 per person and $3.50 for second night. Hotel: Room Blocks under Diocese of Amarillo for the Holiday Inn only; call Keith or Sabrina 806-372-8741 $69.00 w/breakfast ---- Hilton Garden Inn - Mauli Sarkaria 806-355-4400 $96.00 w/breakfast. You have to make your own reservations; The Diocese does NOT have any kind of discounts with any motels in the area.


Transportation – On your own. Laidlaw (school buses) 806-371-5697, Kincaid 800-998-1903, Red Carpet Charters 888-878-5100 B&G Transportation 806-799-3246. Suggestion: get together with another parish and look into transportation using buses.


Banners
– Parishes are encouraged to bring banners to be used on Saturday morning with the theme of the Rally. The banner will be used during our opening entrance with the WYD 2011 Cross.


Ads
– you can help us by selling some ads so we can provide scholarships for youth who otherwise would not be able to go. So let’s sale these ads with pride! PLEASE if possible purchase one for your parish or youth group. Deadline – April 5, 2010


Scholarships
– Our scholarships will be part of the EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION depending on total teens pre-register. Deadline March 15, 2010.


Registration
Use the Pre-registration Form as a sign up sheet for the extra activities that will take place on Friday. Send registration forms and total fee POSTMARKED by April 5, 2010: Group Forms “A” & “B”; Youth Registration Forms “E”; Adult Registration Forms “C”. No one will be let in without the Registration Forms.
 

Cost – POSTMARKED by April 5, 2010

Youth Rally registration is $30.00 per person.

Registration & Wonderland Park is $40.00

After April 5, 2010 ADD $10.00 per participant to the registration fee. (bring all forms to the rally with you as late registrations)

(T-shirt and rally material not guaranteed)

Pre-registration includes: registration fee, two meals, t-shirt and gifts. (Wonderland Park is optional and an additional $10.00)


Wonderland
The last day to buy Wonderland tickets will be SATURDAY APRIL 17, 2010 during registration. Extra tickets for non-participants are $15.00 per person
(free miniature golf, free drinks from 3 - 6 p.m. and pizza from 4:30 - 6:00p.m.)
$5.00 tickets are available for non-riders purchase at Youth Rally ONLY

Sunday's Mass & Meal:
The Amarillo Parishes will provide Sunday’s lunch meal for teens going to Wonderland Park on Sunday. Sunday’s lunch is for any parish coming from outside the Amarillo area.

Call Oscar by April 5,  2010,  to assign your youth group to a parish so that you can attend Mass and eat with your parish host community.
 

Poster – generic poster are on the web, please put these up in traffic areas so everyone can see the dates. (Sent to the Youth Minister/Contact)

Service Project/Collection – Remind participants that the Diocese of Amarillo will be collecting women's clothing, toiletry items and household cleaning supplies for the Downtown Women's Center in the Diocese of Amarillo. Items: Hygiene products, Toothpaste and Toothbrushes, Shampoo/conditioner, Deodarant, Com/brushes. Drop off bins will be located by the registration booth. Please turn in the count of goods for your parish at the registration desk.


Community
Building – Make a goody bag with the following: candy, pecans and other nuts, fruits and exchange items (crosses, prayers cards, hometown pins etc.) one bag per participants. Make at least 5 to 10 extra for late registrations. The bags will be given out during the rally. No more than $2.00 or $2.50 per bag. Groups might want to decorate the bags as a youth group.

Interepretation for the deaf - If needed call the Office at ext. 118 (asap)
